The average paid newsletter costs $10 per month or $100 per year, according to analysis of thousands of publications hosted on Beehiiv.” KDO memberships start at $3/mo. and I haven’t raised prices since 2016. You folks are getting an incredible deal!

I got a new credit card and all my subs broke and though I didn't think I had a lot of newletter subs, it turned out it did. But now I don't, and it's fine. It used to be you could pay for a subscription to Travel & Leisure, and it was like $16 a year. You got a lot of voices about a lot of different places. Yes there was gatekeeping, marginalized voices weren't represented, etc. I will never argue against the web giving people a platform to publish. It's still amazing. But now you have to pay $8+/m per voice. And that's less so.
