Football Stadium Turned Community Garden

As part of a city-wide urban greening program, Taipei turned an abandoned football stadium into a community garden. Here’s an overview of the terraced garden that’s taken over Zhongshan Soccer Stadium from James Stewart on Instagram. A couple of screenshots from the video:

I love this, but I keep thinking it's from The Last of Us
I always thought that similar unused stadiums (Oakland Stadium) could be converted into housing for the homeless. Seating areas could be modified into dwelling areas, Common areas on the inside could be converted into retail, schools, etc. Field area could be garden, recreation area. Parking areas could be for van parking. Lots of electricity, lighting, water and sewer infrastructure already exist. It would just take some imagination..
