Sarah Polley says:

This book is the Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret for perimenopausal women.

Found that via Rebecca Woolf, who adds:

(Not since Judy Blume has a book been passed around this urgently between friends.)

What a gift it is to be seen through someone else's words - to acknowledge the universality of disappointment, desire and yearning and the shape-shifting that occurs because of AND in spite of middle age, marriage and domestic life.

So many friends & women I follow on social media have read this book and been moved to post about how much they loved it. I just ordered the audiobook (read by July herself).

I LOVED this book! Despite many of the arcs and decisions made not necessarily mapping to myself, so much of the self-talk and the way it captures perimenopause relates sharply to my life. I am definitely recommending this book to anyone who'll listen :)
