Huh, here’s the trailer for a new director’s cut (of sorts) of the second X-Files movie (called I Want to Believe, orig. released in 2008) that, per Wikipedia, “will restore horror elements that were previously removed”.

The X-Files was my favorite show as a kid. I've been watching through it with my 14-year-old, and he loves it, especially the "creature of the week" episodes which seem to encourage all the best weirdness and humor that make the show great. I remember this movie being essentially a long "creature of the week" episode, and I hope this re-cut brings some of that magic back.
