Ok, admittedly a great concept and super satisfying to play with.
However, god am I so burnt out on the Claude website aesthetic. It's flattening the visual web experience. All the obvious tells like the "dot with tiny all caps labels", and the one emphasized word in italics in headlines and the beige background.
A site like this would feel so much more... real?... if it had any sort of human design point-of-view. As is though, these sites all feel devoid of soul.
Anyone else feel plagued by seeing this everywhere?
I came to make the same comment! A particularly good example this one, that could have been featured in this article on the matter.
Yeah, I'm tired of the Claude house style as well. And just so you know what I'm working with: I'm getting between 5 and 10 AI-coded sites & games in my inbox every day now (and I see 10-20 more every day on my web travels). A representative email from this morning:
Obviously written by AI (paraphrased from my about page) and the result of a "find 200 websites and newsletters that might be interested in this app and send them personalized emails..." LLM prompt. I barely get past the first paragraph of these and rarely look at whatever app/site/game they are hawking.
The bar for posting these obvious LLM/AI-made sites to KDO is much higher than for stuff I find organically (or that arrives in my inbox organically). I thought this particular one was interesting because it was good about sourcing (love a colophon, show your work, etc.), fun to use, and, well, keyboards! As Nolen Royalty recently wrote, legibility of effort is harder to determine these days and I thank you for your patience as I adjust my filters & discernment.
