What a great list! I’ve personally read almost 100, and most of the rest are on one of my TBR lists. I love the diversity of target ages, genres, and subjects. I haven't seen many lists that have everything from The Snowy Day to The Power Broker.

I suppose these lists are always going to be controversial - and that is probably the point! I don't see any stinkers here (among the books I am familiar with), but there are some towering figures missing - Kerouac, Toni Morrison, Walt Whitman, Ginsburg, Gloria Steinem...Can't catch 'em all I guess

I would personally also add Edward Abbey and Barbara Kingsolver for environmentalist fiction but I can understand not having them also.
