If I lived in LA, I would go to this concert at the Hollywood Bowl: Music From the Films of Wes Anderson. “Over three nights, musicians including Beck, Jenny Lewis, Jackson Browne, and Mothersbaugh himself perform favorite songs, scores…”

Jackson Browne tells a story about being in a cinema seeing The Royal Tenenbaums. When Margot Tenenbaum gets off the bus in slow motion to the tune of Nico singing “These Days,” Jackson listened to the opening guitar and thought, “Oh, what a nice song. I wonder who wrote it.” Then when Nico began singing he thought, “Oh, I wrote it!”
That scene is probably my favorite scene in any Wes Anderson movie. And if it's not, it's certainly my favorite use of music in his films.
Criterion is going to be there with their Mobile Closet and some other fun stuff.
We need Seu Jorge and a Kink added to that list ASAP.
Hiya! I'm the designer behind the Criterion Cinema and Lounge - gonna be super a super fun event. I encourage anyone who can make it to the bowl to give it a look - the cinema and lounge are free to the public.
