Slow blogging day today; I spent some time on the KDO undercarriage and a new little members-only feature for the Rolodex: a simple list of links to the latest posts from Rolodex sites. (Click on “Latest Posts”; like I said, it’s a wee feed reader.)

Big thanks to Arcustech for hosting the site and offering amazing tech support.

Why do some stories here allow comments and others don't?
Not going to go deep into that here, but briefly: if I think a post is going to get good comments, I open them. If not, I don't.
When I click on an entry above, like the one about the Researchers went into a 25m deep tunnel - it takes me to screen that lists all of the entries in a different order. It does not take me to the story I want to see.
The listing above is just an image, a screenshot. You have to click through to interact with the live listing.
This is so cool, thanks.
I hate making requests since you certainly don't owe me or any of us anything, but is there any way you can add a search function that doesn't use Google? I've switched over to Kagi and use their plugin which automatically replaces Google's search results with Kagi's, but when I search this site, all of a sudden I'm searching the entire web rather than just your website. And I search your website surprisingly often as it seems like every other day I'll vaguely remember something I saw here years and years ago, but don't remember the details.
I found the same thing. Also with Kagi, but used to happen to me with duckduckgo as well.
I've been working on a different search for the site — it's been coming along slowly.
Ok, I switched the search from Google to DuckDuckGo; try it out on the archive page.
Hi Jason! Just joined up to support a fellow TGPer. This is cool, have you thought about a roster of members with links to their blogs? I'd love to surface more fellow bloggers and support them too.
Thanks for all you do,
Ray
Thanks Jason, I’ve always thought of KDO as ‘my’ version of my social feed because it seems to display the content that ideally my feed would show me (not that I use any social media platforms) and each update like this seems to feed into this and build on the ‘social’ aspect of the site.
