I heard about Amanda Askell’s role at Anthropic a while back and looked into her work. The overwhelming impression I got was that she’d been hired to do precisely this, whether or not she realises.
Personally speaking, there was a good 20-year period during which I mumbled "philosophy" when asked my college major, but lately it feels like a badge of honor.
