Love the idea, not sure about the Spongebob-esque logo :)
Did they forget to renew the trademark, or did they simply let it lapse because they were no longer using it? In the United States (unlike in many other jurisdictions), trademark rights arise from use, not registration. To renew a mark, the owner must show that they are still using it

As a former Conde Nasty, I can say the intention had been to keep the Gourmet brand alive; there were various ideas about TV or newsletters over the years.
On the other hand, I also remember trying to get CN lawyers to let us pursue some new projects with old CN IP - they own the rights to old comics incl. The Shadow and Doc Savage, for instance. There was zero interest in doing anything with that IP.
That is a pity because there's a devoted fan base to that magazine. I'm glad to see someone doing something with it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go check that link out.
I held on to ten years of Gourmet magazines until recently. I immediately subscribed to this version. I'm rooting for them!
