The Hand-Painted Storefront Signs of Detroit by Ron Miller

Ron Miller is one of the most prolific sign painters in Detroit. Photographer Andrew Anderson has collected dozens of images of Miller’s signs from Google Street View.
Ron Miller has been painting signs since 1978. He loves adding color to the neighborhood with his work. He has no website, no email and works all by word of mouth in Detroit.
Anderson also made a map of the locations of Miller’s signs. And here’s the man himself:

As an 80s kid, I say there is no such thing as too much chrome reflection airbrushing.
Just another reason to love Detroit. My wife is a Michigander, but as an Appalachian who has lived in Atlanta for 30 years, it also feels vibrant and good. I'm all about city vibes. Glasgow, London, Genoa all had something that resonated in me. So does Detroit.
Big fan of hand painted signs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkMlGB7XN3A - give this a look ...
This work is instantly recognizable as a resident of Detroit - I drive by his sign for the Livernois-Davison Florist everyday on my commute. But I never knew who this work was attributed to, great to be able to now put a name and face to these iconic Detroit signs! :) thanks!!
