Lonely Avenue

Jon Batiste & Randy Newman team up for a song called Lonely Avenue. This is lovely. (via craig mod)

Nice. Ray Charles' version from 1958 is definitely worth checking out.

There is a great documentary about Doc Pomus, the writer of “Lonely Avenue” and many other ’50s hits including “Save the Last Dance for Me,” called “AKA Doc Pomus,” that was edited by a pal of mine. It is streaming on the Roku Channel and Hoopla (maybe available through your library). The character John Goodman plays in “Inside Llewyn Davis” seems to be based on Doc Pomus.
