A calque is a word that has been loaned *and translated* from another language. Some English calques: flea market, potsticker, beer garden, iceberg, refried beans, superman, scapegoat, stormtrooper, killer whale.

Loanwords are not calques, but the word loanword is a calque, and calques are not loanwords, but the word calque is a loanword
Very parkway/driveway of them.
Calque and loanword join my list of words that are what they define. Like the mundane ‘noun’ and more interesting ‘shibboleth’
