Climate music for string quartet

University of Minnesota student Daniel Crawford and geography professor Scott St. George have collaborated on a piece of music called Planetary Bands, Warming World. Composed for a string quartet, the piece uses climate change data to determine the musical notes โ€” the pitch of each note is tuned to the average annual temperature, which means as the piece goes on, the musical notes get higher and higher.
