Grrrrr these are not third spaces! The randomness is part of the point! It's fine (even great) if people want to join clubs by other names but leave Ray Oldenburg out of your branding!

Some meetup.com social groups work like this. But meetup.com charges organizers to run such a group and most organizers collect event fees to cover that overhead.
