There is an animal bridge on the highway to Jackson, WY that separates the prairie from the mountains and for whatever reason always strikes me as one of the most beautiful structures I’ve ever seen.
It’s at 42.913° N, 110.078° W if you want to see it, but objectively it’s nothing special. The wonder is all inside of me.
Several years ago I drove from Dubrovnik to Zadar, Croatia -- about 350 km -- on a newly built highway. The number of wildlife crossings built into the project was so heartening to see. Though I'm curious about the evolution of predatory behavior. Do animals learn to park themselves near the entrance/exit and feast? Anyone know?
