While I agree that any vehicle-related deaths are a tragedy, especially when there are means of making cars safer and alternative/safer modes of transportation are becoming more accessible, adjusting by population growth, traffic accidents in Africa have declined.

I am a progressive, but I also love data. And oftentimes vox and other progressive outlets look for the doomer take on every issue, when the underlying data doesn't support the clickbait headlines. This is why I love reading Kevin Drum, he's a stickler for measuring data correctly: adjusting for inflation and population growth, etc.
